Downtown Summit has been a shopping destination since Summit’s incorporation in 1899.

Today the downtown has over 525,000 sf of ground floor space zoned for retail, restaurant, personal service and instructional programming, with a vibrant mix of boutique proprietor owned shops and corporate store operators including Starbucks, lululemon, bluemercury, West Elm, Jos. A. Bank, Duxiana, Bar Method, Exhale and Kidville. Summit’s 22,000 affluent residents are joined by a daytime work force in the city of over 17,000. Additionally, an estimated 29,000 vehicles travel Summit ‘s Springfield Avenue east bound and 42,000 vehicles travel westbound per week.
